Total Exposure is a blog about anything and everything that infulences and interests me, as a photographer. I learnt to photograph with film,  switched to digital, and then returned to film. It offers a unique look that many digital photographers try to emulate. In fact some spend alot of money on software to try to match the beauty of film.  Some come close, but there are many other advantges to film and they cannot be replicated. Digital has its advantages as well, and post processing, or ‘the digital darkroom’ as some call it, is an area where digital offers a great amount of control. That is why I work in a hybrid workflow. I shoot film and then that is taken into the digital medium by way of high resolution scans.

This workflow offers my clients the best possible result and gives them the choice of traditional style prints with the versatlity of using the digital files to share via the internet, or display them with digital picture frames.

I hope you enjoy my blog and I welcome comments and suggestions.

Kind regards

Ty Mickan
